PRACTICAL POS GUIDE · KENYACatalogue setup for cyber café POS in Kenya
This guide to catalogue setup for cyber café explains the daily checks. Prepare the cyber café catalogue before the first sale: choose the selling unit, separate similar items and enter counted opening stock. This guide uses Computer use 30 min, Document typing page and Scan page as examples.
Catalogue setup for cyber café: decide what one quantity means
Set a fixed browsing slot or document service unit. Printing and scanning should specify pages or sheets explicitly.
Define the service being charged and its fixed unit. Recording one service sale does not reserve an appointment, create a job card or track an item left for repair.
A starter catalogue to adapt

Load and rehearse in this order
- Check that Computer use 30 min has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
- Distinguish Document typing page from Computer use 30 min; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
- Count usable Computer use 30 min units and record that physical opening quantity.
- On sample records, sell two Computer use 30 min units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
- Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.
Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference
If Computer use 30 min was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.
