Offline preparation for timber yard POS in Kenya

This guide to offline preparation for timber yard explains the daily checks. Prepare offline access for the timber yard catalogue before the connection fails. Use a sample Plywood sheet sale to rehearse recovery, rather than assuming a downloaded page is already ready for trading.

Offline preparation for timber yard: prepare the catalogue and device

Name the species, grade and fixed dimensions of each sellable piece. Count pieces rather than assuming all timber lengths are equivalent.

A connected rehearsal comes first

  1. Open the application online on the actual supported device and complete the initial setup.
  2. Wait for the offline-ready indicator and check the selected business, branch and counter.
  3. On isolated sample records, record one Plywood sheet cash sale while testing the supported offline mode.
  4. Reconnect and review the receipt, stock and synchronisation state once.
  5. Compare the recovered result with the original sample sale; do not repeat checkout because an upload appears slow.

Know the owner and staff boundary

Shared workspace offline changes are owner-only. Staff access and synchronisation need connectivity. A second device does not automatically receive a sale while both devices are disconnected. Nearby device-to-device synchronisation without internet is not supplied.

Protect the device-held records

Offline records are held on the device. Clearing browser site data, replacing the device or using another browser profile can remove or hide those records. Keep a supported backup, identify who owns recovery and practise restoring sample data before relying on the process. An offline-ready indicator is not an off-device backup.

Payments and tax services have separate needs

Cash can be recorded in the supported offline workflow. A manual M-Pesa reference does not verify a transfer, and an offline sale cannot make an unconnected payment or tax service live. Automatic prompts, card processing and eTIMS submission are not connected in this release.

Offline preparation sheet

These checkboxes are a temporary reading aid. Refreshing the page clears them.

Specialist limits still apply offline

Volume calculations, cutting optimisation and custom-length stock deduction are not supplied.

Product fit for this business

Use defined whole units and packs. The software is not a complete specialist ERP or double-entry accounting system.

All amounts and product movements on this page are illustrative. The public demo uses sample records. Use an isolated test installation for rehearsal and replace sample prices and counts before real trading.

Try the workflow before choosing your setup

The launch software licence is KES 4,999 once for one business installation, including its branches and tills. Hardware, installation, hosting, support and future upgrades have separate terms. These planning guides do not activate a licence or deploy an installation.
