PRACTICAL POS GUIDE · KENYATill cash counts for optical accessories shop POS in Kenya

Till cash counts for optical accessories shop: link the sale to the right counter
For this rehearsal, use two Spectacle case units and one Lens cloth. Select the branch and named till before recording the sale. The cashier should use a display name that can appear at the receipt footer; an email address is not needed there.
Simple till-close example
| Drawer movement | KES |
|---|---|
| Opening cash | 1,000 |
| Cash sale: 2 × Spectacle case + 1 × Lens cloth | 800 |
| Expected closing cash | 1,800 |
| Same amount recorded as M-Pesa | Does not increase drawer cash |
Count the cash actually present, then compare it with the expected cash for that till and shift. This worked example assumes no cash refunds, payouts or other movements.
Close the shift deliberately
- Confirm the branch, till and shift before taking the count.
- Count the drawer without including the M-Pesa or card total.
- Check recorded cash refunds and any other real drawer movement.
- Review differences with the cashier and keep an explanation rather than editing product sales to force a match.
- Agree the handover cash before the next shift starts.
Do not confuse the worksheet with POS features
The worksheet helps reconcile physical cash. Its fields for other additions and removals do not imply a dedicated cash-movement module in the POS. Record and reconcile any movement through the supported business process. A single branch total cannot explain which of two tills has a shortage.
A useful end-of-day question
This preset is for accessory sales; eye examinations, prescriptions and clinical records are not included.
Product fit for this business
Separate sizes, colours and models can use separate items. Serial numbers, IMEI custody, warranty and repair ledgers are not included.
All amounts and product movements on this page are illustrative. The public demo uses sample records. Use an isolated test installation for rehearsal and replace sample prices and counts before real trading.
Try the workflow before choosing your setup
