PRACTICAL POS GUIDE · KENYA

Catalogue setup for meat distributor POS in Kenya

This guide to catalogue setup for meat distributor explains the daily checks. Prepare the meat distributor catalogue before the first sale: choose the selling unit, separate similar items and enter counted opening stock. This guide uses Beef sealed 1 kg, Chicken sealed pack and Sausage sealed pack as examples.

Catalogue setup for meat distributor: decide what one quantity means

Use labelled fixed packs or cartons with clear contents. Record dispatched whole units against the correct customer.

A piece, labelled pack or fixed container must have an unambiguous size. Do not label a variable-weight product as one generic unit and expect the POS to measure it.

A starter catalogue to adapt

The figures below are illustrative preset prices, not market quotations. They do not describe your stock. Replace them before trading.

Load and rehearse in this order

  1. Check that Beef sealed 1 kg has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
  2. Distinguish Chicken sealed pack from Beef sealed 1 kg; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
  3. Count usable Beef sealed 1 kg units and record that physical opening quantity.
  4. On sample records, sell two Beef sealed 1 kg units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
  5. Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.

Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference

If Beef sealed 1 kg was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.

All amounts and product movements on this page are illustrative. The public demo uses sample records. Use an isolated test installation for rehearsal and replace sample prices and counts before real trading.

Try the workflow before choosing your setup

The launch software licence is US.99 once for one business installation, including its branches and tills. Hardware, installation, hosting, support and future upgrades have separate terms. These planning guides do not activate a licence or deploy an installation.
