Catalogue setup for confectionery shop: decide what one quantity means
Define a sealed bag, box or individual sweet as the selling unit. Keep gift assortments distinguishable from loose retail pieces.
A finished meal or fixed portion is the checkout unit. Record preparation ingredients separately; this preset does not calculate recipes or food cost from ingredient use.
A starter catalogue to adapt
The figures below are illustrative preset prices, not market quotations. They do not describe your stock. Replace them before trading.

Load and rehearse in this order
- Check that Sweet bag 100 g has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
- Distinguish Chocolate bar from Sweet bag 100 g; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
- Count usable Sweet bag 100 g units and record that physical opening quantity.
- On sample records, sell two Sweet bag 100 g units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
- Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.
Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference
If Sweet bag 100 g was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.
