PRACTICAL POS GUIDE · KENYACatalogue setup for computer repair service POS in Kenya
This guide to catalogue setup for computer repair service explains the daily checks. Prepare the computer repair service catalogue before the first sale: choose the selling unit, separate similar items and enter counted opening stock. This guide uses Diagnostic service, Software setup service and Keyboard fitting as examples.
Catalogue setup for computer repair service: decide what one quantity means
Define fixed diagnostic or labour services and list spare parts separately on the sale. Agree the charge before completing checkout.
Define the service being charged and its fixed unit. Recording one service sale does not reserve an appointment, create a job card or track an item left for repair.
A starter catalogue to adapt
The figures below are illustrative preset prices, not market quotations. They do not describe your stock. Replace them before trading.
| Item or service | Sale unit | Sample KES price | Opening count |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diagnostic service | slot | 1,000 | Count actual units |
| Software setup service | slot | 1,500 | Count actual units |
| Keyboard fitting | slot | 800 | Count actual units |
| Laptop cleaning labour | task | 800 | Count actual units |
| Memory fitting labour | task | 500 | Count actual units |
| Data transfer fixed service | slot | 1,200 | Count actual units |
Load and rehearse in this order
- Check that Diagnostic service has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
- Distinguish Software setup service from Diagnostic service; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
- Count usable Diagnostic service units and record that physical opening quantity.
- On sample records, sell two Diagnostic service units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
- Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.
Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference
If Diagnostic service was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.

Try the workflow before choosing your setup
The launch software licence is US.99 once for one business installation, including its branches and tills. Hardware, installation, hosting, support and future upgrades have separate terms. These planning guides do not activate a licence or deploy an installation.
