PRACTICAL POS GUIDE · KENYA

Catalogue setup for barbershop POS in Kenya

This guide to catalogue setup for barbershop explains the daily checks. Prepare the barbershop catalogue before the first sale: choose the selling unit, separate similar items and enter counted opening stock. This guide uses Haircut, Beard trim and Hair wash as examples.

Catalogue setup for barbershop: decide what one quantity means

Define each haircut or grooming service clearly, including any separately charged extras. Keep products sold over the counter in their own stock items.

Define the service being charged and its fixed unit. Recording one service sale does not reserve an appointment, create a job card or track an item left for repair.

A starter catalogue to adapt

The figures below are illustrative preset prices, not market quotations. They do not describe your stock. Replace them before trading.

Load and rehearse in this order

  1. Check that Haircut has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
  2. Distinguish Beard trim from Haircut; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
  3. Count usable Haircut units and record that physical opening quantity.
  4. On sample records, sell two Haircut units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
  5. Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.

Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference

If Haircut was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.

Product fit for this business

Defined service units can be sold. Booking calendars, commissions, custody records and specialist job cards are not included.

All amounts and product movements on this page are illustrative. The public demo uses sample records. Use an isolated test installation for rehearsal and replace sample prices and counts before real trading.

Try the workflow before choosing your setup

The launch software licence is KES 4,999 once for one business installation, including its branches and tills. Hardware, installation, hosting, support and future upgrades have separate terms. These planning guides do not activate a licence or deploy an installation.
