Offline preparation for bakery POS in Kenya

This guide to offline preparation for bakery explains the daily checks. Prepare offline access for the bakery catalogue before the connection fails. Use a sample Croissant sale to rehearse recovery, rather than assuming a downloaded page is already ready for trading.

Offline preparation for bakery: prepare the catalogue and device

Separate a loaf, a bun pack and an individual slice rather than giving them one ambiguous product name. Record the finished items received at the counter.

A connected rehearsal comes first

  1. Open the application online on the actual supported device and complete the initial setup.
  2. Wait for the offline-ready indicator and check the selected business, branch and counter.
  3. On isolated sample records, record one Croissant cash sale while testing the supported offline mode.
  4. Reconnect and review the receipt, stock and synchronisation state once.
  5. Compare the recovered result with the original sample sale; do not repeat checkout because an upload appears slow.

Know the owner and staff boundary

Shared workspace offline changes are owner-only. Staff access and synchronisation need connectivity. A second device does not automatically receive a sale while both devices are disconnected. Nearby device-to-device synchronisation without internet is not supplied.

Protect the device-held records

Offline records are held on the device. Clearing browser site data, replacing the device or using another browser profile can remove or hide those records. Keep a supported backup, identify who owns recovery and practise restoring sample data before relying on the process. An offline-ready indicator is not an off-device backup.

Payments and tax services have separate needs

Cash can be recorded in the supported offline workflow. A manual M-Pesa reference does not verify a transfer, and an offline sale cannot make an unconnected payment or tax service live. Automatic prompts, card processing and eTIMS submission are not connected in this release.

Offline preparation sheet

These checkboxes are a temporary reading aid. Refreshing the page clears them.

Specialist limits still apply offline

Unsold baked goods should be counted and adjusted deliberately. A recorded batch date helps stock control but does not calculate a food's safe shelf life.

Product fit for this business

Fixed menu items and portions are supported. Recipe deductions, kitchen tickets and table management are not included.

All amounts and product movements on this page are illustrative. The public demo uses sample records. Use an isolated test installation for rehearsal and replace sample prices and counts before real trading.

Try the workflow before choosing your setup

The launch software licence is KES 4,999 once for one business installation, including its branches and tills. Hardware, installation, hosting, support and future upgrades have separate terms. These planning guides do not activate a licence or deploy an installation.
