PRACTICAL POS GUIDE · KENYA

Catalogue setup for cake studio POS in Kenya

This guide to catalogue setup for cake studio explains the daily checks. Prepare the cake studio catalogue before the first sale: choose the selling unit, separate similar items and enter counted opening stock. This guide uses Celebration cake fixed size, Cupcake box 6 and Cake slice as examples.

Catalogue setup for cake studio: decide what one quantity means

Separate standard ready-made cakes from fixed decoration or delivery charges. State the size of each standard cake item.

A finished meal or fixed portion is the checkout unit. Record preparation ingredients separately; this preset does not calculate recipes or food cost from ingredient use.

A starter catalogue to adapt

The figures below are illustrative preset prices, not market quotations. They do not describe your stock. Replace them before trading.

Load and rehearse in this order

  1. Check that Celebration cake fixed size has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
  2. Distinguish Cupcake box 6 from Celebration cake fixed size; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
  3. Count usable Celebration cake fixed size units and record that physical opening quantity.
  4. On sample records, sell two Celebration cake fixed size units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
  5. Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.

Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference

If Celebration cake fixed size was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.
