Stock counting for sports equipment shop POS in Kenya

This guide to stock counting for sports equipment shop explains the daily checks. Reconcile the physical count of Football with deliveries and sales. A stock difference should be explained before it is adjusted.

Stock counting for sports equipment shop: count the same unit that you sell

Name size, material and sport-specific specification for balls, rackets and protective gear.

Count each size, colour or model separately. An excess of one variant does not cancel a shortage of another when customers need a specific item.

Expected stock = opening units + received units − sold units, before returns or adjustments. Here 20 + 10 − 4 = 26. The physical count is one lower. Check deliveries, damage and unrecorded movement before deciding the reason.

Planning worksheet only. These figures stay on this page and never create POS records.

Investigate before changing the balance

  1. Recount Football using the catalogue unit.
  2. Check that a delivery of Skipping rope was not entered against Football.
  3. Compare receiving records and sales within the same branch and period.
  4. Separate damage, quarantine and customer returns from normal usable stock.
  5. Record the reason for a supported adjustment and keep the count evidence.

What the worksheet leaves out

This worksheet covers opening units, receipts and sales only. Add recorded returns, voids and adjustments when reconciling real records. It is not a stock reservation service, a batch allocator or proof that two offline devices have the same available balance.

Product fit for this business

Separate sizes, colours and models can use separate items. Serial numbers, IMEI custody, warranty and repair ledgers are not included.

All amounts and product movements on this page are illustrative. The public demo uses sample records. Use an isolated test installation for rehearsal and replace sample prices and counts before real trading.

Try the workflow before choosing your setup

The launch software licence is KES 4,999 once for one business installation, including its branches and tills. Hardware, installation, hosting, support and future upgrades have separate terms. These planning guides do not activate a licence or deploy an installation.
