PRACTICAL POS GUIDE · KENYAStock counting for egg distributor POS in Kenya
This guide to stock counting for egg distributor explains the daily checks. Reconcile the physical count of Egg tray 30 with deliveries and sales. A stock difference should be explained before it is adjusted.
Stock counting for egg distributor: count the same unit that you sell
Make tray count and pack count explicit. Broken eggs must be removed from saleable quantities rather than hidden inside a delivery total.
Separate unusable or spoiled packs before counting sellable stock. Do not use an adjustment to disguise a mismatch between packs and kilograms.
Worked reconciliation
| Movement | Egg tray 30 units |
|---|---|
| Opening usable count | 20 |
| Received from supplier | +10 |
| Sold | −4 |
| Expected remaining | 26 |
| Physical count | 25 |
| Difference to investigate | −1 |
Expected stock = opening units + received units − sold units, before returns or adjustments. Here 20 + 10 − 4 = 26. The physical count is one lower. Check deliveries, damage and unrecorded movement before deciding the reason.
