Catalogue setup for baby shop POS in Kenya

This guide to catalogue setup for baby shop explains the daily checks. Prepare the baby shop catalogue before the first sale: choose the selling unit, separate similar items and enter counted opening stock. This guide uses Baby blanket, Baby bottle and Baby vest pack as examples.

Catalogue setup for baby shop: decide what one quantity means

Distinguish age or size range, pack count and product volume. A small nappy pack should not share stock with a larger pack.

Describe the actual pack the customer receives. Avoid using the same entry for a sealed box and a loose piece unless the chosen stock workflow explicitly supports that conversion.

A starter catalogue to adapt

The figures below are illustrative preset prices, not market quotations. They do not describe your stock. Replace them before trading.

Load and rehearse in this order

  1. Check that Baby blanket has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
  2. Distinguish Baby bottle from Baby blanket; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
  3. Count usable Baby blanket units and record that physical opening quantity.
  4. On sample records, sell two Baby blanket units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
  5. Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.

Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference

If Baby blanket was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.

Product fit for this business

Use defined whole units and packs. The software is not a complete specialist ERP or double-entry accounting system.

All amounts and product movements on this page are illustrative. The public demo uses sample records. Use an isolated test installation for rehearsal and replace sample prices and counts before real trading.

Try the workflow before choosing your setup

The launch software licence is US.99 once for one business installation, including its branches and tills. Hardware, installation, hosting, support and future upgrades have separate terms. These planning guides do not activate a licence or deploy an installation.
