Catalogue setup for fish and chips outlet: decide what one quantity means

A finished meal or fixed portion is the checkout unit. Record preparation ingredients separately; this preset does not calculate recipes or food cost from ingredient use.
A starter catalogue to adapt
The figures below are illustrative preset prices, not market quotations. They do not describe your stock. Replace them before trading.

Load and rehearse in this order
- Check that Fish meal has a clear name, unit, price and unique item code.
- Distinguish Chips portion from Fish meal; a similar name must not hide a different pack.
- Count usable Fish meal units and record that physical opening quantity.
- On sample records, sell two Fish meal units and confirm only that item reduces by two.
- Review the receipt and backup before entering real business records.
Correct the catalogue without hiding a stock difference
If Fish meal was named incorrectly, correct the name. If its quantity is wrong, investigate the count and record an explained adjustment. Editing a price or changing a description does not explain missing units. Keep old transactions readable when deciding how to rename an item.
